I provide high quality and engaging English instruction for beginners to advanced English Language Learners.

All first time students receive a free trial class that will allow me and your child to meet. I will also use the trial class to estimate your child’s English and reading proficiency. I will work with you to arrange the time and dates of classes once you have purchased a package of classes. I will also send a brief questionnaire that will help me get to know your child’s interests better.

I use engaging and evidence based materials and instructional techniques in lessons. I will also use some assessments to identify specific skills your child needs to continue practicing and to give you feedback on progress. This will ensure your child receives personalized instruction and reading materials that are just right for his or her proficiency level.

My lessons and instruction are guided by the WIDA English Language Development Standards. This means my curriculum and instruction will help students learn to communicate for social and instructional purposes in Language Arts, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies. Your child will learn and practice how to communicate information, ideas, and concepts necessary for social interactions and academic success in content areas.

I will send preparation materials several days before lessons for your child to review. Class time will focus on introducing, practicing and applying reading, speaking, vocabulary and grammar skills. Your child will also have the opportunity to show his or her ability to apply skills through speaking and writing activities.

I show ‘care’ by keeping my interactions and feedback to students ‘strengths based’ in order to develop a growth mindset. When students have a growth mindset they believe their skills and talents can be improved by working hard.

Learning a second or third language is challenging and it can be a fun and positive experience!

How much do classes cost?

Classes are $25.00 USD for 40 minutes. Discounts are available when purchasing packages of classes. I recommend children take two classes per week so they have adequate class time to practice and apply skills they are learning. However, I understand children can be very busy and I will accommodate the schedule that fits your needs. Purchased classes do not expire.
